HBS BATTLETECH FLASHPOINT SERIES
ğlashpoints - Test your command skills in a series of action-packed short stories, completing extended contracts to earn big bonuses. To ramp up the intensity, some Flashpoint stories will feature “Consecutive Deployments” in which players won’t be able to repair their ‘Mechs between missions. Flashpoints are high-stakes branching short stories, comprised of procedural mercenary missions linked together with new crew conversations, special events, critical choices, and valuable rewards. The first-ever BATTLETECH expansion comes complete with three new ‘Mechs (including the highly anticipated Hatchetman), a challenging new mission type, and a new tropical biome, along with its featured namesake, Flashpoints. Plus, that's not exactly Black Widow's style in the first place. The new trailer for BattleTech Flashpoint with an exclusive look at the Hatchetman! well, HBS has copped enough flak from reviewers and players who got annoyed at how often a second lance fulla nasties has popped up mid-mission, so I don't think artificially boosting difficulty levels via putting more bodies on the map would meet with much acclaim. She wouldn't bother ambushing, especially given that you know precisely where she's going to be beforehand i.e. Black Widow is a trueborn Clan Wolf Mechwarrior who, in that battle, has been directly challenged to a lance-on-lance battle. In any case, those are not really things that are applicable in the circumstances that the mission sets up. I'm not really the one who is annoyed at the mission, either. That YOU can't think of any tells me they should hire you. there are literally a thousand things they could have done that are standard parts of the game. Originally posted by Ichthyic:how about position their lances in ambush areas, or how about using ecms, or how about using bots themselves, or. rewards were just random rare and uncommon items. I figured if anybody would be sporting that thing, it would be one of these two mercs.
HBS BATTLETECH FLASHPOINT MOD
It's a cockpit mod that increases your initiative by 2.
HBS BATTLETECH FLASHPOINT UPGRADE
I was hoping that this would end with getting an item I see in the gear upgrade files, but have not seen in game: Well, I suppose it makes no difference how you kill them in the end, since you get no mech parts in the loot table anyway. Which, btw, they also use on the Bounty Hunter's mech. like I said, they have before made cockpits untargetable period (black out as targetable), but this time they used this entirely hidden BS. especially if it's even hidden cheap mechanics. it's cheap, and shows lack of skill in designing proper difficult encounters. my point isn't about the difficulty of the fight, it's the use of literally fake mechanics in it by the devs. Which makes the conversation BW and BH have kinda weird, considering she's dead.Īgain, not my point.

best I could do was double leg her.įWIW, I killed them all before the bounty hunter even shows up. but the point is the devs used fake mechanics to make this fight "harder". all the rest can be headshot like normal. none of the other mechs in her lance are like this, BTW. very easy to leg the widow, impossible, literally, to headshot. 5 precision shots: 1 miss entirely, 2 hit CT, 1 arm, 1 leg, 1 torso.Īim at leg: 80% chance to hit: 4 leg hits, 1 CT hit. To prove it, I'm going to mod the game so I have 100% chance of headshots, and then I will come back here and tell you it still didn't work.Ĭonfirmed.

this is entirely hidden mechanics to redirect shots that normally would hit her head.

I can hit any other part of her easily and repeatedly, and have played this game since beta, I know how headshots work. which are then automatically directed to other parts. I mean, why not just black her head out, like they have done in the past, when they want to indicate the cockpit is protected from headshots? this is entirely invisible, lets you take shots at the head. result? 5 shots taken, not a single head hit. Slowing initiative weapons? hidden anti-targeting mechanics that don't even show up on your hit chance scanner? come on.Įxample: 82% chance to get a headshot on a prone BW. Not gonna say more, but the only way they made that fight hard was to do things that simply are not possible for any mechs or pilots.
